Establishing a presence as a metal/glass sculptor
I was born on February 28, 1995 in Evanston, Illinois but spent my first 5 years in neighboring Rogers Park. My parents, Trisha and Bill, brought me to the city of Evanston for an exceptional Public School System.
As a child, I spent lots of time traveling around the vast city of Chicago's art scene. I went from being a stroller bound toddler to actively engaging with artists and material.
I returned to more involved visual creation while at the University of Loyola New Orleans under now Professor Emeritus Mark Grote. Mark, then head of the sculpture department. He allowed me to jump right into his sculpture program after a brief introduction. I continued on to assist as a shop tech and then a teaching assistant in his final semester at Loyola. Around the same time I began taking courses in the glass department at Tulane under professor Gene Koss. Glass was a material I had no prior experience working with but it soon became evident that this unique opportunity would draw me into an entirely different direction. I have now embarked on a journey to bring Glass and Steel into a sculptural marriage through a variety of techniques to foment discourse around material value and how those perceptions can impact the way in which we navigate the world.
